Knauf Ceiling System
The Knauf Ceiling system is designed specifically for use with Knauf Cleaneo boards to create the rigidity required for the seamless finish.
Knauf Cleaneo boards are fixed onto a double lightweight metal framework of Knauf ‘C’ Channels and Knauf ‘U’ Channels using fast drywall construction techniques, suspended by angle sections fixed to the structural soffit withsoffit cleats.
Controlling pollutants - the ‘Cleaneo Effect’
Knauf Cleaneo boards incorporate volcanic Zeolite to act as a molecular sieve, cleaning the air that passes through it by removing a range of impurities.
Tests have shown that Knauf Cleaneo reduces the airborne levels of a number of pollutants including tobacco smoke, triethylamine, ammonia, formaldehyde, benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons. The causes of these include cleaning agents, combustion, organic decomposition, paints and other common chemicals.
With regulations making buildings increasingly airtight the accumulation of pollutants in indoor air is a new challenge. Especially critical are volatile organic compounds that not only have an unpleasant odour but can, depending on the concentration, be damaging to health. Knauf Cleaneo is able to reduce the concentration of these pollutants in indoor air.
Seamless finishing
Knauf Cleaneo boards are jointed using the tapeless Knauf Uniflott system. This unique system provides a highly desirable seamless finish which is both quick and easy to achieve, allowing the finished pattern to flow uninterrupted throughout the room.
Knauf uses a combination of four precision-cut edges and this strong tapeless jointing system to provide the stunning seamless finish that is a signature of Knauf installations.
